BITUBOND

DESCRIPTION

BITUBOND is a specially formulated liquid cold applied adhesive made from select ductile bitumen, pure petroleum solvents, strong fibres, mineral stabilizers and special tackifying agents and adhesion additives.

USES
BITUBOND is designed for use in cold process built-up roofing systems as the cementing material bonding various plies. It can also be used as lap cement, selvedge cement and insulation adhesive. It is also suitable as an adhesive for cement floor tiles. It is not recommended for use with hot mop or any non-coated roofing felt. It should not be used with polystyrene insulation.

OUTSTANDING FEATURES
Due to its special formulation BITUBOND 4, Inhalation - Can cause dizziness. Remove to has optimum adhesion and bond strength. fresh air. If breathing difficulty persist,

v Durable under typical roof movements, administer oxygen. thermal expansion and contraction.

~ Special tackifying agents are used to cause an immediate adhesion to reduce fish mouthing or slippage.

v Special wetting agents and solvents are used to improve the interply adhesion.

v Being highly resistant to heat, it can withstand temperatures upto 60° C.

v Excellent cold temperature pliability, hence will not crack, chip or peel.

v Easy to apply, requiring no mixing, heating or thinning, thereby saving labour costs.

STANDARDS
Conforms to ASTM D 3019, Type III

PACKING 20-litre pails and 200-litre drums

HEALTH & SAFETY
Contains petroleum distillate; flammable; keep away from open fire, sparks or other ignition sources. Wear protective clothing, gloves and goggles.

1 . Fire - Flammable when wet, flash point 40 Deg. C.

2. Skin - Avoid repeated or prolonged contact. Remove with hand cleaner that removes oil or grease, then clean with soap and water.

3. Eyes - Contact could cause irritation. If contact occurs, flush with clean water.

APPLICATION
The surface must be clean and smooth. The roofing felt must be clean, dry and wrinkle free. When using directly over concrete, prime the surface with BITUPRIME and allow the primer to cure overnight. It can be applied by roofing brush, squeegee or airless spray equipment at the recommended coverage rates.

CLEANING
Tools : Clean with kerosene
Hands : Use a hand cleaner or kerosene followed by soap and water.

COVERAGE
