Polyflame
DESCRIPTION
POLYFLAME
is a range of modified bitumen membranes with a reinforcement of high
quality non woven, polyester which provides suppleness and flexibility
to compliment the plastomeric qualities of the bitumen blend at both
high and low temperatures. The inlay is positioned within a matrix of
bitumen modified with a special blend of polypropylene thermoplastic
polymers ((APP) The polyester fabric is rot proof and extremely robust
with certain isotropic qualities. Other weights of polyester are
available on request.
USES
POLYFLAME
a general purpose membrane, excellent in
single layer roofing systems used with GLASFLAME
as part of 2 or 3 layer systems in underground
structures, multi-story car parks..etc. When
surfaced with factory applied colourd slate
granules, POLYFLAME is ideal as an exposed top
layer.
OUTSTANDING FEATURES
- Total impermiability for total
waterproofing.
- Excellent resistance to aging and weathering.
- Outstanding bond ability and seam integrity.
- Flexibility at low temperature.
- Stability at high temperature.
- Very high resistance to impact and puncture.
- Simple single layer installation (reduces labour
cost)
- Variety of finishes for exposed and covered
applications.
- High tensile strength and tear resistance
- Very good puncture resistance.
- Excellent for mechanical anchorage·
FINISHES
Available
in two basic finishes:
-Black smooth finish with polyethylene
surfaces for covered applications.
-Granule surfacing for exposed applications. Fine
sanded upper surface in 3,4,5, mm are also
available for covered applications.
QUALITY CONTROL
In addition to stringent regular tests by
BITUMAT laboratory, our products are tested
periodically by Bureau Veritas, SOCOTEC, Paris,
France.
STANDARDS
POLYFLAME complies with the requirements and
tolerance levels of :
1. The American Societty For Testing &
Material, ASTM D-6222 Type II.
2.UEAtc (European Union of Technical
Agreement).
3.MOAT 27-1983 and MOAT 30-1984.
4.CGSB (Canadian General Standards Board)
37-GP56M-July 1980.
APPLICATION
POLYFLAME is installed by torch welding
method, loose-laid or fully bonded to substrate.
When loose-laid, only laps are bonded together.
Peripheries and protrusions are sealed according
to specifications.
TORCHING GUIDELINES
The underside of the membrane should be
torched just enough to superficially melt the
bitumen. Excessive heating may damage the
reinforcement. Overlaps should be re-heated from
the top and resealed with a trowel to ensure seam
integrity. For details of installation methods and
flashing requirements, consult the relevant
BITUMAT Design.
INSTALLATION TOOLS REQUIRED
a Gas torch, Knife, Trowel, Measuring tape,
Marking string, Gloves.nd Installation Manual.
